November 5, 2009 ~~ 9:45 AM, EST

At approximately 8:45 AM, Eastern Standard Time, Simon Pegg proposed a “Hash Tag Wave” to his 88,000 Followers on Twitter.

Within 15 minutes, over 1200 or more posts were listed under the “#fireworks” hashtag. By 9:30 AM, thousands of people on Twitter were participating and the Hash Tag Wave reached the Twitter Top Trends list.

Behold, the power of the Hash Tag Wave, as I will now call it. A community rally of support and fun, demonstrated by Simon Pegg and his fans.
